Social Committee Update

Samantha Kennedy has done a fantastic job on Yard of the Month since it’s inception. Unfortunately, the deadline of the newsletter and Yard of the Month responsibilities hit at the same time. Karen Wies has volunteered to head the Yard of the Month committee. She could use several volunteers to assist her. Please contact Karen at 497-3298. Thank you to Samantha for the great job she has done in the position. I think we need to put a small committee to do the job she was doing alone!

Thank you Julie Speights for hosting our January Bunco game. February’s game will be held on Wednesday, February 19^th at Karen Weis’s house at 518 Texas Point. So please call Nancy Townsend at 481-7421 or email her at zwmom@aol.com to reserve a spot. Reservations are very helpful so that we are sure to fill at least three tables and can start the game on time. Once again, we all contribute $5 for the prize money.

As you go through last year’s Christmas presents and put aside out-grown toys, remember we’ll have a garage sale in the spring! If anyone would like to be in charge of the sale or have input, we welcome your suggestions. We usually buddy up with Remington Oak Association, so there is not much to do! Honest!

We also have several neighbors who are interested in starting a book club and a gourmet dining club. Email Nancy Townsend at zwmom@aol.com and I will get that information to those parties.

The Social Committee was recovering from the events of December during the month of January. We would like to have a meeting February 25^th to discuss events for the new year. We would love new members who would like to work on one or more of our current activities or have ideas for something new for the neighborhood. Everyone is always welcome to drop in on one of our meetings and see what we are all about. The meeting will be held at Nancy Townsend’s house 2/25/03 from 7 to 8 pm. Please let me know if you are coming, in case of a change of date or place.

Covenant Corner

Article I: Temporary Structures No structure of a temporary character (sales structure, trailer, travel trailer, tent, shack, garage, barn or other outbuildings) shall be used on any Lot at any time as a residence, either temporarily or permanently. No trailer, camper, recreational vehicles, or similar vehicles shall at any time be parked in view from other properties or connected to utilities situated within a Lot. No dwelling previously constructed elsewhere may be moved onto any Lot in the subdivision controlled by these covenants. This covenant specifically includes mobile homes or the use of a mobile home in which the axle and wheels have been removed and placed upon a concrete slab, which said mobile home is hereby specifically prohibited as a residence, either temporarily or permanently, and further, specifically includes a mobile home upon which the wheels have been left attached. Sales offices and construction offices used by the developer or builders are permitted.

English Translation: We cannot live in our garages or in a trailer on our property. We cannot park a trailer or RV on our property where it can be seen from anyone else's property. And, sorry folks, no mobile homes allowed.
