Overlook Outlook Page 3 Volume 16, December 2002

Social Committee Update
The Overlook will have it’s first Holiday Open House on Thursday and Friday, December 5th and 6th. Come and share the cheer. There will be goodies and lots of vendors from our very own neighborhood. We’ll have holiday crafts and decorations, holiday buttons, Premier Designs jewelry, Southern Living at Home, home decorations by the Jenkins Group, Pampered Chef and Creative Memories. Stop by the Speights at 606 Walder Trail. On Thursday, the holiday store will be open from 5:30-8:30pm and noon until 8:30pm on Friday. Please feel free to bring your children. Thank you to Julie for opening her house to this event.
Our next Bunko game of the season will be Tuesday, Dec. 17th. It will be held at Leslie Blasingame’s house at 511 Walder Trail at 7 pm. So please call Leslie at 481-2649 to reserve a spot. Bring a Christmas ornament or gift item of $5 for a gift exchange. Once again, we all contribute $5 for the prize money.
We are all looking forward to the progressive dinner on both streets on Friday, December 13th. Georg'a Walsh of Walder Trail and Colleen Douglas of Texas Point have done an incredible job of coordinating this event. We want to thank them so much for giving their time and energy at this hectic time of year. The participants travel to different houses for cocktails and appetizers, soup and salads and main course on their respective streets. Both streets will meet at the Kennedy's’ for dessert and white elephant gift exchange. A $5 reservation donation is being charged to go towards our holiday decorations for the front entry. Special thank you to the gracious families who have opened up their houses for the courses. The participants will have to dazzle them with the dishes they supply! Please contact Georgia Walsh at 497-2706 or Colleen Douglas at 497-2031 for reservations or more information.
As you go through last year’s Christmas presents and put aside out-grown toys, remember we’ll have a garage sale in the spring!
