Social Committee Update

The fall garage sale will be held Saturday, October 5th from 9 am to 12 noon. These are the legal hours that the city of San Antonio allows you to advertise one. If we can open the gates sooner, we will. Our partners in the garage sale, Remington Oaks are not gated and therefore get early morning traffic. Please purchase a $5 license at HEB if you plan to participate. Questions call 481-7421.

The next meeting of the Social Committee will be Monday, Oct. 7th at Nancy Townsend’s house at 7:30 pm. We will discuss our plans for the rest of the year. The Social Committee hopes to have a Halloween hot dog party before Trick or Treating, but we will need to see what the details of that event are and if we have enough volunteers. Details of the party will be sent to homeowners by email. Neighbors are always welcome to come to the Social Committee meetings. If you are interested in just one event or more, we love input and appreciate the help.

Our next Bunko game of the season will be Tuesday, Oct. 15th. It will be held at Nancy Townsend’s’ house at 523 Texas Point at 7 pm. So please call Nancy Townsend at 481-7421 to reserve a spot. Our calendar for the rest of 2002 will be varied due to the number of conflicts with Bush football games, holidays and other commitments. Once again, we all contribute $5 for the prize money.

We hope to have a progressive dinner on both streets this December. Last year, Walder Trial had a very successful event. The participants traveled to different houses for cocktails, appetizers, salads, main course and dessert.
