Congraulations to The Baughns for their beautiful yard!

National Night Out

Our second annual National Night Out (NNO) neighborhood party was a big success! Thank you to all those that helped set-up and clean-up for our event, especially the ladies on the social committee!

This year we had almost 30 families participate. The favorite things again this year were getting up close and personal with a fire truck, the SAPD helicopter fly-by and the moonbounce! We couldn't have had such a successful event, with out the generosity of all our sponsors! Thank you to Sheryl Nelson, for once again sharing her banquet tables with us. Also, a special thanks to the Ganson's, who donated all the great Sonic items and let us set up the moonbouce in their yard again this year!

National Night Out is a great way for our neighborhood to get out and meet each other. It is part of our ongoing effort to have the safest possible environment in which to live. Thank you for your support!

The City of San Antonio will be announcing soon the winning neighborhoods for NNO, so be on the lookout for the Overlook to win again this year!

Thank you to our Sponsors!!

Sonic (ice, cups, toys, free food cards)

Pepsi (6 cases of water/soft drinks)

Chick-fil-a-Blanco Rd. (25 free kids meal cards & balloons)

Wendy’s ($20 gift certificate)

Super Target ($25 gift card for refreshments)

Krispy Kreme (6 dozen doughnuts)

Annual Pool Party With Live Band

The Overlook Homeowners Association annual pool party will be held Sunday, September 12th from 4-7pm at the Heights Pool.

This year we will have a live band - The Applesauce Brothers! So get out your swimsuits and celebrate that the kids are back to school! Oh, and bring the kids, of course. Time to rock out!

We will be having pizza from Little Caesars. Please email Nancy Townsend at zwmom@sbcglobal.net to RSVP. Please include the number of adults and children that will be attending, as well as pizza preferences: cheese, pepperoni or veggie combo pizza. The cost will be $5 per family and should be dropped under the front door mat of the Townsend's at 523 Texas Point.
Each household will be asked to bring a side dish, appetizer or dessert of their choosing: even numbered house will bring appetizers or salads and odd numbered houses will bring desserts. Email or call Nancy at 481-7421 if you would like to see what other families are bringing or if you'd like to bring something different.

Any questions should be directed to Nancy Townsend. Let her know if you can help with set-up or clean-up. Let's have a great time!

Anahuac Project Completed

Glory be, the job is finally done, thanks to the tireless efforts of many, many people. Special thanks to the Getmans and the Jarvies, who seemed to pop up every time we were out planting, and the Jenkins for letting us store the plants in their yard. Also, special thanks to Lawns By Richard for donating time this last weekend to get those last beautiful shrubs in the ground!

There are still Eleagnus shrubs available for sale and $8.40 per 3 gallon bucket. Contact samkenn@swbell.net if interested.
