What are we going to do in 2004? We want to continue to not only make our
neighborhood beautiful but also safe. As for the beautiful part, we will
continue to add more landscape to the islands and front entrance. We will
be also announcing a contest for the Anahuac Beautification Project, more
details will follow. We will be looking into street repairs and glazing.
Now the safety part, we will be distributing security stickers for our homeowner's
cars. We are also looking into the possibility of security cameras at the
front entrance.
These are some of the things that the Board, along with your help, hope
to accomplish this year. Any suggestions that you have please let me, David
Kennedy or Georgia Walsh know.
One last note, I would like to thank David Kennedy for all his hard work
and efforts in serving this community as President. David worked closely
with Jerbo and others to get a lot accomplished for us and our neighborhood
in his time as President. Here is to a great 2004, take care and God Bless.

Letter from The President
Dear residents of The Overlook,
I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. With 2004 already here,
it is time to plan for events, projects and things that we as a community
want to accomplish for our neighborhood this year.
Let's first take a brief look at what we accomplished in 2003, starting with
the islands and entrance with the neighborhood. We curbed the islands on Texas
Point, landscaped the islands on Walder Trail and brought in new soil and
plants for the entrance. We also extended the sprinkler system at the entrance
and began maintenance of the Wilderness Oak medians. A lot was done, with
more work ahead for us this year. Thank you to the volunteers that helped
make these projects successful.
We also had a vote on whether to curb or not to curb. The neighborhood spoke
and the streets were not curbed.
We are blessed to have a very active Social Committee. With their hard work
we had Summer and Christmas progressive dinners, a Luau, an Easter egg hunt,
and a Halloween hot dog party. I think that all who attended would agree that
each of these events were a lot of fun. I would like to give a special thanks
to Nancy Townsend for her hard work as Social Committee Chairperson. As Nancy
has decided to let someone else take over the reigns for 2004, the position
of Social Committee Chairperson is vacant. If you have an interest please
contact one of the Board members.
I would also like to point out that we won an award for our National Night
Out Event. This event would not have been possible without the efforts of
our Security Chairperson Colleen Douglas. Thank you Colleen for all that you
have done in safety awareness for the Overlook.
Last but not least we had a Spring garage sale and two brush pickups.
