Spring is Here!!!

Thursday, March 20th is the official

1st day of Spring!!

Tutor Available

Elementary school teacher, (described as "awesome and loves working with kids"), specializing in learning disabilities is available for tutoring.  Interested parties may contact Susan Stahl, of Walder Trail, at 497-5134.

To Pass or Not to Pass

Recently, a homeowner posed a question to the "powers that be" regarding when it is and is not appropriate to pass a school bus.  The answer was:  If the road is divided by a median, physical barrier or (a) clearly indicated dividing section constructed to impede vehicular traffic, then the vehicles traveling in the opposite direction do not have to stop.  If yellow lines or center turn lane only divides the road, then YES vehicles traveling in the opposite direction DO HAVE to stop.  Thank you Mark Pistorio for passing along this useful information.

Chairpersons Needed

The social committee is looking for community volunteers to head up an Overlook Easter Egg Hunt (possible date April 12th).  Also, a volunteer is being sought to organize a Ladies Night Out.  Anyone interested in volunteering for these two community functions may contact Nancy Townsend at 481-7421.

Newsletter Begins Accepting Advertisers

The Overlook  is proud to announce a new phase in the continuing growth of our community newsletter.  In order to offset the cost of web page fees, paid advertisements will now be accepted to be placed throughout the newsletter and on the homepage.  Staffers are busily gearing up to solicit advertisers as we speak.  Home- owners are encouraged to promote this new feature to businesses at their own convenience.  Overlook business owners are welcome to submit ads; for more information, email davkenn@swbell.net  Personal ads placed by homeowners will continue to be placed free of charge.

Warmer Weather Brings Out the Kids

With the advent of some beautiful spring sunshine, our Overlook little ones will be out and about in droves.  Because our community has no sidewalks, and most of our driveways are steeply graded, the children will be riding bikes and scooters, skateboarding, rollerblading, etc., in our streets.   Homeowners are reminded to use caution when driving; and while the posted speed limit is 20mph, slowing to a prudent 10mph while passing by children on the street is advised.

Yard of the Month

March's Yard of the Month winner is the Magallanes family at 502 Texas Point.  Congratulations!!

Due to the winter-time blah effect, the Yard of the Month program will be reduced to May through November, and January (Christmas decorations).  This will free up some of the social committee budget to be spent on other programs, and will allow the community to focus on our beautiful yards during the "peak" season!
