Healthy Mind and Body Summer Camp

Did you notice the flyer about the Mind and Body Camp for students entering Grades 2nd-5th?  Your Overlook neighbor Larry Jarvie is a partner in Mind Fitness who together with Gemini Ink have designed a week-long camp with creative TAKS curriculum and fun fitness at Stone Oak Elementary.   The camp runs from

July 29th-August 1st, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (extended care available 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.) and includes sports activities such as basketball. soccer, kickball, and  wiffle ball, as well as curriculum designed to help children in grades 1-5 be better prepared for the 2004 TAKS reading and writing test.  For more information, please call (210)367-0709, or check out the website at www.welcomehomesa.com/mindfitness

The fee for the camp is $199.00, which includes lunch.  Camp is limited to 100 students, so make your reservations now!

Almost every single aspect of this event is donated by community volunteers.  Hopefully, those in our neighborhood that work for Valero, SBC, IBC, etc, can help with additional items like key chains, hats, shirts etc. for prizes.  (Contact Colleen Douglas).  Also, we are still searching for someone to donate the use of a  PA System.

As with every community event, we can always use help with set-up and clean-up, so please contact Colleen if you are able to help.
