Holiday Open House
Julie
Speights, of 606 Walder Trail, will be hosting a "Holiday
Open House" on Thursday,
December 5th, from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm and Friday,
December 6th, from noon until 8:30 pm. Everyone
is invited to attend and children are welcome!
There
will be many tables set up selling different items. This will be a
fun and convenient way to get some of your Christmas shopping done! So far
there are tables selling jewelry, cute beaded watches, hand-made triple-scented
candles, holiday crafts, holiday buttons, Pampered Chef, Creative Memories,
Southern Living at Home, home decorations by Mary Jenkins, & Premier Designs
Jewelry.
New Security Email Address Proves Effective
The new security email address (security@overlookho.org) was tested and proved to be quite effective last month. A neighbor reported a suspicious vehicle, including the license plate number, to Security Advisor Colleen Douglas via the email address. Mrs. Douglas was then able to check with her contacts at the police station to verify that the suspicious vehicle was a legitimate contractor and authorized to be in the neighborhood. We would like to encourage all residents to utilize this wonderful new addition to the community.
First Residents Complete Cellular on Patrol Program
Andy Andres and Samantha Kennedy, of Walder Trail, completed the Cellular on Patrol class in November. Mr. Andres and Mrs. Kennedy completed eight hours of training, along with an eight hour ride along with an SAPD patrol officer. The two will be joining with Colleen Douglas, Overlook Security Advisor, to begin patrols of the neighborhood. The Overlook would like to encourage more neighbors to volunteer in the program. More information can be obtained at http://www.sanantonio.gov/sapd/cop.asp or contact Colleen Douglas at geoffncolleen@earthlink.net . Plans are also underway to purchase and place two signs in the neighborhood, signifying that The Overlook participates in the COPs program, to discourage criminal activity.

Christmas Bunko Ornament Exchange
December Bunko will be held at Leslie Blasingame's home, on Tuesday the 17th. Each player will bring a Christmas ornament ($5 value or less) to exchange, along with the standard $5 to put in the pot. Due to space limitations, the game will be limited to 12 players, so RSVP as soon as possible! See Social Update for full details.
