Notice anything different about the newsletter this month?  In an effort to bring homeowners better access to community happenings, information, and upcoming events, the Overlook Outlook staff (chuckle, chuckle!) is working on a community web page.  The web page will contain links to various sources, including the board of directors, the management company, the gate liaison, the ARC, social and landscaping committees, etc.  One click of the mouse and homeowners will be able to email board directors, download an ARC request form, communicate with gate liaison, or contact the social or landscape committee chairperson.  The newsletter will also be accessible from the home page.

We have added a new feature called Covenant Corner.  Each month one article of the covenants will be explained.  We hope the Covenant Corner will give homeowners a better understanding of the covenants which govern our community.  Future plans include full online access to the community covenants.

Work is in progress and will continue steadily.  Keep in mind that your newsletter staff is really a stay at home mom and an anesthesiologist with limited computer skills; so grade us on a gentle curve!  (Rick, come home soon!!!)  Please check back often for updated material.  As always, comments and feedback are welcomed at davkenn@swbell.net

Hawaiian Luau, Overlook Style

Plans for the Overlook Back to School Swim Party are in full swing!  Get out your calendars and clear Sunday, August 18th - you won't want to miss the fun!  The party is scheduled from 4-7p.m.  Each family is asked to bring one appetizer, side dish, or dessert; chicken will be supplied and served by the board of directors.  The social committee will provide tea and lemonade; any other beverages will be BYOB.  The cost for the party is $5 per family, which will go toward paper goods and supplies.  RSVP's and the $5 fees (made out to Nancy Thomsen, pool party chairperson) can be dropped by the Jenkins' home.  There are activities planned to keep the kiddos entertained, while mom and dad do some bidding in the silent auction!  So bring your swim suits, grass skirts, and your check books!!

Yard of the Month

The August winner of Yard of the Month is the Kent family, 735 Walder Trail. Congratulations!  The Kent family received a gift basket and will have the Yard of the Month sign displayed in their lawn for the month of August.  In the near future, a photo of the winner's yard/home will be displayed on the community web page.  Keep an eye out for this exciting change!
